A rental of R80 a month for this elegant five-roomed house in the Malay Quarter is considered 'very fair' by the present tenant, 28-year-old Mr Mogammed Noor Salie, a wages clerk for a big building firm. His wife, Mrs Rhoda Salie, with her two-year-old son, Zaahir, sitting on her lap, relaxes in the spacious living room with her sister-in-law, Maariyah Adams, and her two sons, Faizel and Nazeem Standing is 70-year-old grandfather Mr Achmat Salie.
