It indicates the presence of slaves on Robben Island ("daar de Slaven in de Ketting loopen"). It also gives "extensive detailed and fairly accurate topographical information ... together with the names of owners of farms and plots of that period. Amongst these are de Beer, Swart Pieter, Martin de Smit, Roelof Pasman, Gerrit Kloeton, and the French Huguenot settlement. These place names add considerably to the knowledge of the history of the ... The inset of the Cape is also in Dutch with some Portuguese notations., Restored and hinged between acid-free boards.
