Description: Shoppers stopped and stared in disbelief yesterday when these two "punk-rock" performers popped into an Adderley Street button shop to stock up on safety pins. The one on the left is male and called Guillaume, while the other is Andrea Fine. Both are appearing in the "cartoon rock opera", Zombie, now playing at a Cape Town theatre.

Description: Although the Scots may deny it fiercely , bagpipes come from the East and in Cape Town the Habibia Sidique Muslim Pipe Band Brigade has not forgotten its ancient tradition of pipe music. The band will be heard on Saturday morning when it takes part in the procession along Adderley Street to mark the opening of the 1981 Cape Arts Festival. Leading a rehearsal on top of Signal Hill is drum major Mogamad Kenny and behind him, from left, are pipe major Hadjie Goosain Allie, staff sergeant piper Abubakar Dollie and piper Omar Hartley.
