This row of shrouded 'bodies' formed a novel protest against conditions in the re-settlement camp Dimbaza. The protest was held at lunch-time yesterday on the steps of Jameson Hall and publicised a notice board set up at the university by the welfare division of the National Union of South African Students (NUSAS), which gives details of life at Dimbaza. The 'dead' students symbolise the children referred to in the poster in the background, which reads: 'Dimbaza 1971: 38 children died over a period of 55 days'.
