Description: Lowenstein Estate: An area of 291 morgen opposite the Karl Bremer Hospital on the northern side of the national road to Bellville (shown as white lines) has been sold for township development at a price of R550,000. The property ,which belonged to the Duminy family for a long time, has been acquired by Mr. K. W. Bates, of London, and Mr. Allen, of Johannesburg, after negotiations through John Bowie and Co. (Pty) Ltd. in collaboration with Mr. L. Howe. It is the intention to development the area in conjunction with Bellville Municipality and make it the Bishopscourt of the area. It will be laid out in 703 residential sites of between 10,000 and 25,000 sq. ft. each. There will be a school site of 12 acres facing the national road, a shopping centre of 4 acres and a flat site of 5 acres. Possibly a company will be formed to build the houses to accepted minimum qualifications.
