Description: In 1937, |Una Rooi and her grandparents were forced to move to Upington, South Africa. They learnt that their homes were burnt and all their possessions and land taken. They were forced to live in the limestone grottoes at Witdraai in the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park. When |Una's father, Ari, reported this to the police at the Witdraai Police Station, he was violently beaten and left for dead.
